Joel Stone
Executive Director
Farmer Family Foundation
Joel is the Executive Director for the Farmer Family Foundation. Based in Cincinnati, OH, the Farmer Family Foundation makes strategic philanthropic investments in the areas of K-12 Education for the at-risk population, economic stability and self-sufficiency for the working poor, health care research with best in class programs across the country, and public policy/advocacy in support of the Foundation's mission.
Prior to his current role, Joel served as the Senior Vice President and National Managing Director of Fifth Third Private Bank. In his role, he focused on developing and executing on the strategic plan for Fifth Third Private Bank to be the best private wealth firm in every market in which it advised and served families. During this time, Fifth Third Private Bank had over $50 billion in assets under management, and a team of more than two hundred client facing advisors. Fifth Third Private Bank’s client base consists of corporate executives, business owners, and successful families. Joel also served on Fifth Third Bancorp's Management Committee.
Previously, Joel was Private Bank Managing Director for the Cincinnati region where he led a team of seasoned leaders and highly trained professionals that provided holistic wealth advice to help simplify financial complexity for successful families. He has also served as the Director of Private Banking for Fifth Third Bank’s Kentucky region where he led a team of highly trained private banking professionals in Louisville and Lexington that provides traditional and specialized banking solutions for corporate executives, families, and business owners. Joel spent nearly twenty years at Fifth Third.

Joel is a member of the Board of Trustees for The Summit Country Day School. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center where he serves on the Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Investment Committee, and Patient Care Committee. Joel also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Cincinnati Ballet, and served as the Board Chairman for two years.
In 2013, he was honored by Louisville Business First as a Forty Under Forty recipient. He is also a graduate of Cincinnati USA’s C-Change (Class V) and Leadership Louisville (Class of 2016). Joel, his wife, Lisa, and their two children (Grant and Gabby) live in Hyde Park. He enjoys golf, basketball, fishing, and passionately supporting his beloved University of Michigan Wolverines. Joel graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor's degree and was a Michigan Community Scholar.
